This Chance

This first one I met was the wife. She had a familiar face that I soon recognized as Serena Joy, a popular televangelist. She was spiteful and I understand perfectly, since who wants her husband *ahem* reproducing with another lady?

I met the rest of them. Cora, Rita, Nick, and my new Commander. They were pleasant mostly for the situation.

One night I went downstairs um....to steal something small just to have something one little possession. Nick sneaked up behind me and kissed me. Wow did I feel passion, I actually felt that someone might love me. Than Nick uttered that the Commander wanted to see me in his office.

So I went. What else could I do? When I walked in he greeted me and asked, "Would you play scrabble with me?" Scrabble, huh really? Well, I obliged and we started and intense game of a forbidden game. The Commander when we were finished asked me to kiss him. Of course I had to.

On one of the next Ceremony nights (nights where the commander tries to impregnate me), the Commander almost gave everything away. He tried to touch my face tenderly. Luckily, I caught this and moved the other way. I hope Serena Joy did not realize! The next time I went to his office, I sort of yelled at him for doing this. We had several nights of scrabble playing. Whenever Serena Joy was not home for the night.

On one of the nights I was with the Commander, he took me to a prostitution club thing called Jezebel's. I was dressed like a naughty lady or a gardening tool name. There at the club, I ran into Moria who had escaped from the gym. I was so happy to see her and we went into the bathroom and talked about life. Apparently, they caught her again and gave her this option or the Colonies to be a unwoman. We talked for awhile and then had to leave. This was the last time I ever saw my best friend ever again.

I need to have a baby and soon! I'm pretty old for a handmaid being 33 years old. I need a baby to not go to the Colonies. Once, a doctor even said he would give me a child himself. Later, Serena Joy came up with an idea: have Nick give me a baby. We did just that.
